Bearse Eldridge married at Chatham in Barnstable County, Massachusetts in 1793. In the 1800 census for Chatham he was the head of a household of 4 males aged under 10, 1 male aged 16-25, 1 female under aged 10 and 1 female aged 16-25. In 1830 at Chatham his household comprised 1 male aged 15-19, 1 male aged 20-29, 1 male aged 50-59, 1 female aged 10-14, 1 female aged 15-19 and 1 female aged 50-59. These records suggest he had more children than those listed however the paucity of records makes it difficult to include others.
Jesse H Eldridge, a great grandson of Bearse, was a member of a lifeboat crew who received a life saving medal awarded in 1892 by the Secretary of the Treasury for his part in a 20 Jan 1892 rescue.
