On the 1841 Plaitford census Elizabeth Eldridge was with her twin children Charles and Julia Anna at the residence of her father John Andrews together with a female servant Isabella Eldridge. Her husband is thought to be the Edmund Eldridge who died on 11 Jul 1840 at Downton, Wiltshire aged 25. Present at his death was a Mary Eldridge who was the informant when the death was registered. The Downton parish is about 8 kilometres to the west of Plaitford.
Edmund is thought to be probably related to James Eldridge and Sarah who had children baptised at Landford between 1781 and 1789. The Landford parish adjoins the Plaitford parish to the west. James and Sarah has a son Henry who may be the witness and Henry married a Mary who is known to be in Downton in 1851 and may be the informant on Edmund's death and they had a daughter Arabella born in 1826 who may be the servant Isabella with Elizabeth Eldridge in 1841.

In subsequent baptisms at Plaitford Elizabeth Eldridge is shown as the mother of Henry Eldridge in 1844 and Emma Eldridge in 1849 with no father shown in both baptisms. In the 1851 census at Romsey, Hampshire Elizabeth is shown as a widow with her children Charles, Julia Anna and Henry. Her daughter Emma had died in 1849. The 1861 census at Romsey shows Elizabeth with her son Henry and another son Edward shown aged 6 born at Harnham, Wiltshire. His birth was registered at Alderbury in the June quarter of 1854. Birth and death records show that an Edward Eldridge was born in 1851 with an Andrews mother and he died in 1853 aged 2. Whether Henry born 1844 and died unmarried 1926, Emma born and died 1849, Edward born 1851 and died 1853 and Edward born in 1854 have the same father is unknown.
