Edgar Eldridge enlisted in Western Australia for service in the Boer War in 1901 and he was shown as a saw mill hand of Collie, aged 21 born Adelaide, South Australia. He served in South Africa and returned to WA in 1902. He was shown as a shearer and miner when he enlisted in WA in the Australian Imperial Force in Jan 1916 and is shown aged 33 years and 9 months with his next of kin being his mother Lucy Eldridge of Coolup, WA. He served in Europe and whilst in England he married in 1917 to Daisy Grace Wilkes showing his father as Edgar Eldridge, an engine driver. Edgar and his wife and their son Edgar Sidney all came to WA in 1919 after the the end of WWI. Daisy had a son Gordon in 1920 but Edgar disputed that he was the father. Daisy obtained maintenance orders on the grounds of desertion in 1922 and filed for divorce in 1923. She later had another son, William Eldridge in 1924. Daisy remarried in 1935 in WA to Frank Henry New. Her children Edgar Sidney and William both changed their names.

Edgar is believed to be born in North Adelaide, SA on 29 Apr 1882 as Edgar Brazier, the first of three children of Edgar Brazier and Lucy Cunningham. Edgar Brazier snr remarried in SA in 1894 to Fanny Norton and they had had a son in 1895 before moving to WA where a number of additional children were born. Edgar snr was an engine driver at Lion Mill in WA where he was tragically killed in a machinery accident in 1916.

Rosa Brazier, daughter of Edgar Brazier snr and Lucy Cunningham, married in WA in 1899 to Edward Henry Eldridge and her younger sister Pansy married Francis Alexander Nicholson in 1904 in WA. It is thought that Lucy Brazier, nee Cunningham brought her children to WA and and is the Lucy Eldridge shown at Coolup in 1903 as a widow and in 1906 as home duties in Commonwealth Electoral Rolls. An Edward Eldridge is also shown of Coolup in these two rolls and he is the Edward Henry Eldridge of Coolup who married Rosa Brazier in 1899. Lucy Cunningham is shown as the mother of Amelia Eldridge on her 1912 marriage and her father is shown as Charles Eldridge deceased. On the 1921 death of Lucy Brazier a Charles Eldridge is shown as her first husband with her second husband unknown. It is believed that Charles Eldridge is a fictitious name used to account for Amelia having an Eldridge surname.

Margaret was a widow born in Stonehouse, Scotland the daughter of John Maclean Gage, then a deceased game keeper and Jane Stewart. Zivan said he first met Francesca in Sydney and in 1945 he came to SA and met her again when she was Francesca Pekarovich a widow. During that visit he alleged that a proposal of marriage was accepted and that she should meet him in Sydney after his return. She purchased him a christmas present in Sydney in 1946 and planned a marriage in January 1947 however Francesca had met another Yugoslav at a christmas party and agreed to marry him instead. This man, now her husband, was reported to be Jack Eldridge who had previously changed his name from Mirko Jelavica (sic) and had married Francesca in or about December 1947. Francesca Eldridge died in SA on 9 Aug 1964 and was shown aged 81.
